Biomethane is a local renewable fuel that meets the quality requirements of natural gas, containing over 97% methane (CH4). Biomethane is produced by purifying biogas to remove carbon dioxide (CO₂) and other unnecessary compounds. Biomethane can be used wherever natural gas is used.
Biomethane has been injected into the distribution network of AS Gaasivõrk at eight different entry points.
